Nina Campbell
Nina Campbell interest in interior design started at age 19 when she started working for Sybil Colefax & John Fowler. She then opened her own business and set to design a castle in Scotland. Campbell continued to grow her business by opening a studio and expanding into wallpaper and fabric. Her collection of wallpapers inspired by Europe can be easily matched with her different collections as well as her wallpapers that are globally inspired.
Campbell’s clients tend to be “private individuals who require a high level of confidentiality and privacy.” For example her current project is for a private house for a royal family in China. Clients that have repeatedly been helped by Campbell have said she “feels very strongly that a house should be personally tailored to each client and should reflect their own particular needs and lifestyle.” This is present in all her works.
Nina launched her furniture collection in 2009 and includes armchairs, benches, chairs, sofas, metal furniture and tables and chairs. Just recently she launched a rug design with Stark Carpet and has nine different designs. They are a combination of wool and silk and her colors are very earthy.
Her interiors are very warm and rich and have a classy feel to them. Her latest collection of fabrics Braemar Spring 2013 is a mix of blues and grays and stripes I feel never go out of date. With the furniture many were redesigns of older period furniture. Nina Campbell received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Middlesex in 2001 and was awarded by the American Fashion award for being “the woman who has most influenced style internationally”.
